Learn the technical modeling skills and high-level thought process of acquiring and selling companies. The program emphasizes the critical thinking required to solve problems for clients, including raising capital, debt, equity financing, M&A and LBO transactions. Additionally, you’ll learn the technical and soft skills to analyze stocks like a professional and be able to create your own investment reports from scratch.
Develop a strong fundamental knowledge of accounting, Excel, financial modeling, chart analysis and the investment process required to work as a research or investment analyst. Understand the thought process behind LBO transactions while learning financial modeling complexities. Identify issues within the project and apply critical thinking and the correct skills to solve problems.
Gain the soft and technical skills applied by analysts each day on-the-job. You’ll know how to build complex financial models, perform valuation, and understand the role of an analyst in corporate finance. You’ll be prepared and desk-ready on day one of your finance career.

During this phase, you will develop core technical skills with a foundation in corporate finance, accounting, financial modeling, valuation, leveraged buyout, and mergers & acquisitions analysis.
During this phase, you will work on case studies designed to teach you how to analyze companies from multiple perspectives. You’ll learn to assess company situations, identify modeling issues and formulate your own opinion on the company. You’ll be able to provide your own recommendation like a professional.
In this phase, you’ll learn how to brand yourself to land your dream job. We provide guidelines and the principals to building an effective resume to help you stand out. In addition, we provide you with our interview prep course designed to help you better prepare for interviews and answer questions with a high degree of confidence.
The Amazon investment case study teaches in real time how a market professional applies modeling, valuation and technical analysis techniques to value a business. Students learn how to solve difficulties that may present itself when valuating public companies. Amazon stock is up~24% as of June 30, 2020 due to an increase in online sales from to stay at home orders due to COVID-19. Is Amazon stock fairly priced or is the market mispricing expectations? Should we buy or sell the stock? These are some of the questions we answer in this case.
The Express case study explores Leveraged Buyout techniques commonly used by Private Equity and Wall Street firms. The topics cover provides practical application of the standards and methods that a practitioner needs to be a top performer. Students will build an LBO financial model on apparel retailer Express Inc. The case study will explore leverage ratios and potential return on investment to determine if the company is a good LBO target.

Mr. Romero is the Founder and Managing Partner of Romero Capital, a private family fund. Prior to founding Romero Capital, he served as senior instructor at the New York School of Finance and conducted financial training programs for corporate and individual clients across the U.S., Canada and Germany. Before this, he was an equity analyst and trader at Seven Points Capital executing long and short equity strategies. Mr. Romero began his career at Credit Suisse as a Mergers & Acquisitions analyst in New York where he acquired deal experience in the technology, industrial and health care industries. He has also worked with start-ups in the food & beverage and education sectors.
Mr. Romero’s passion for teaching led him to found Romero Mentoring in 2016, an education, mentoring and investing platform for student analysts. Mr. Romero currently serves as mentor and instructor at Romero Mentoring and is educating the next generation of investment analysts. Mr. Romero holds a B.B.A. in Finance and Investments with a minor in Philosophy from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business.
