Experience Prior To The Program

My finance background before training was all theoretical, mostly college courses. I joined to get hands-on experience and thorough training. My overall goal was to start my path to understanding Private Equity and Investment Banking more in-depth.

Training Experience

I liked how it was all laid out for you online so that I could do it at my own pace. It helped me with my career goals by giving me the foundation to continue valuing companies. For instance, I will continue to practice valuing companies and using that information to benefit myself.

Internship Experience

The internship was good. I liked that I had a say in the final project that I wanted to do. The training was essential for the internship, and I know I would not have been able to do what I’d done without it. For example, I wouldn’t know where to start when it came to creating an LBO model, but after the training I was more confident.

Mentorship

The one-on-one mentorship was helpful when I was able to meet with someone. However, there tended to be large gaps of time, so I would finish my project and wait a week before meeting with someone. But that being said, I feel like it was incredibly valuable once I got time with them; having things I’m not sure about explained to me because the mentor wanted me to understand and not just finish the project was phenomenal.

Career Development

I was able to leverage this experience in networking calls and interviews which helped me gain traction with many opportunities in the investment banking industry. This is a great place to start your finance career.

Final Remarks

It was a lot of work and something that had a profound impact on me. This is a great place to start your finance career.
