Experience Prior To The Program

I came into college not knowing what sort of career I wanted to have, but I became interested in finance due to a family member. I had no idea what valuation meant or what a cash flow statement was, and I didn’t know where to start looking for information. I wanted to learn technicals and lay a foundation for myself from which I could start building my career.

Training Experience

Being able to talk to Mr. Romero after handing in each project, and have a conversation with him about the company’s qualitative and financial aspects, was incredibly helpful. In short, I learned how to really pitch a stock, which has helped me in finance clubs at school.

I came out of this program with a much better understanding of what financial modeling was, and when I look back at myself a couple months ago, I’m shocked at how much I’ve grown.

Internship Experience

The internship experience involved training, then completing projects which I would submit and then meeting with Mr. Romero to discuss. The training was very helpful because it taught me almost everything I needed to know to complete a basic but thoughtful stock pitch.

Mentorship

The 1:1 mentorship, as mentioned before, was personally the most valuable aspect of the program. I was able to have thoughtful conversations with Mr. Romero and his comments/feedback were always tailored to my specific work.

Career Development

The program helped portray me as a student who was serious about finance and someone who was invested enough to spend time learning technical skills for so many months.

Final Remarks

I came out of this program with a much better understanding of what financial modeling was, and when I look back at myself a couple months ago, I'm shocked at how much I've grown. I learned how to pitch a stock, which is an essential and basic skill for a finance professional to have. The one-on-one mentorship was incredibly helpful as well and definitely contributed to my growth. You won't regret joining this program!
