Experience Prior To The Program

I had only a basic understanding of financial knowledge before joining the Analyst Prep Program. I was looking for resources that could help improve both my financial knowledge and modeling skills. Romero Mentoring offered both and thus was the very reason why I decided to join the program. I wanted to develop my financial knowledge and skills to first understand about the type of work that is performed by seasoned professionals on a day-to-day basis. Secondly, I wanted to utilize the mentors for career advice and help with networking, recruiting, and interview prep to help land a summer IB internship.

Training Experience

The most valuable aspect of the training was having to complete the sheer amount of training videos within a short amount of time. This really helped me with my time management skills and showcased that I could grasp a large amount of newly learned information within a short period of time. The information I learned made the interview prep much easier. Many of the mock interview questions I could answer easily and provide examples from my training and hands on excel experience.

I highly recommend any student who is serious about improving their financial skills and career to apply for the program. The program offers a top-class package you will not learn in school or find anywhere else. The skills and experiences provided are career altering and will help provide a more direct path to your desired career.

Internship Experience

The internship experience built directly from the training and now incorporated my financial research skills to make thoughtful assumptions and investment theses. The training was the foundation needed to help me perform accurate financial analysis, forecasting, creating a slide deck from scratch, and presenting my client ready work to Mr. Romero.

Mentorship

The one-on-one mentorship was critically helpful, and it enhanced my overall experience in the program. With so much newly information being taught, having Mr. Romero and mentors available to ask questions to and help correct “rookie mistakes” elevated my overall learning. An example was when I was preforming my precedent transaction analysis, I was not sure I if I should be using the announcement or completion multiple. Mr. Romero first challenged me to think about what made more sense and then was able to provide a detailed explanation.

Career Development

The training and internship really helped me understand a lot of the mock technical interview style questions. During the career development part of the program, I was able to receive feedback from Mr. Romero and the mentors on practically recreating my resume. They provided great insight and tips on type on how to answer common type of interview questions and what I should be asking during networking calls.

Final Remarks

I highly recommend any student who is serious about improving their financial skills and career to apply for the program. The program offers a top-class package you will not learn in school or find anywhere else. The skills and experiences provided are career altering and will help provide a more direct path to your desired career.
