I don’t think anyone can look back on this experience and regret it. It’s scary to sign up for more courses, more learning, and more work. But it’s also exciting and inspiring to choose to develop and grow yourself, especially if it’s outside of your comfort zone. See you on the other side!

Joining the mentoring program enables you to meet a group of driven and amazing students who share the same goals as you do and are happy to help you achieve them. At the same time, the mentorship from Mr. Romero as well as the critical thinking you develop through the internship is extremely helpful even if you don’t end up choosing finance as a career.

I think the experience will be very useful for anyone deeply interested in finance or who is considering finance in any aspect. The program gives a very real look into what it is like to work in finance especially as an analyst, and will equip you with the tools necessary for a future career. My advice is to try to learn a little bit of the basics so you won’t be very lost in the beginning, but I’d say just be passionate, invested, and persistent!

I have had a great experience in the program and would recommend it to any undergraduate student who is serious about a career in finance. The personalized approach which the program takes ensures that every student can capture value from the experience. Luis is a great teacher who really cares about his students and their success.

I honestly believe that if you are a student that does not have connections, extensive experience in finance, majored in something other than finance, or attends a non-target school, but wants to work in finance, this program is a must. The technical and soft skills students learn through this program is directly attributed to Luis Romero’s experience and is a testament to his ability as a teacher. With out this program I would not have received an investment banking internship or a full-time job in finance.

The Romero Mentoring Program is an amazing way to jump start a career in finance on Wall Street or elsewhere. From a technical standpoint, the training is superb and will make those who complete it very competitive at getting the finance job they want. From a career development standpoint, you are introduced to a strong network of like minded peers who are all ambitious career-wise, but who are also kind to help when the need arises. This program is a phenomenal opportunity that should not be missed!

The program is highly useful for anyone who wants to jump start their career in finance. It gives you both the theoretical and practical knowledge to get started in finance, and will help guide you down whatever path you choose with one-on-one mentorship. It’s an investment in myself that has paid off several times over.

My advice to students hesitant about joining would be simply go for it. The career that you are trying to embark upon if you are considering this program is a valuable one and one that needs to be started on the right foot. Mr. Romero will ensure this happens and this program has evolved over time and has consistently added components to make the experience useful for everyone. Not many programs combine the perks of financial training, internship experience, mentorship/career development and the Romero program is one of the very few that I would not give any seconds thoughts to.

Join the program only if you are serious about getting a job on Wall Street out of college. For those that are hesitant to join, simply look on LinkedIn at where all of the students who have been a part of the program have gone afterwards. That should make the decision a bit easier.

For a student that is interested in pursuing a career in market-related financial industry, the program will help you to stay ahead of the competition. Some of the hand on hand learning process is something that you won’t get when you are actually in the field.

Thank you, Luis and Paige. I am very appreciative to be a part of this community. Romero Mentoring is challenging but extremely rewarding if you put the time in. My advice to prospective mentees is to reach out to current mentees or alumni of the program and hear their stories about Romero Mentoring. This program has helped me to grow so much, and I hope that it can help someone else too.

After graduating, I can confirm that through courses at my university that I wouldn’t have learned what I did through this program. One thing that I did not mention is that the people who go through this program also help each other down the road. Whether it’s with interviews, job openings, or just advice. My advice to those on the borderline is to reach out to any of us who went through the program or even do a quick LinkedIn search to see where people have gone to see how much impact this program has helped them thus far.
