Experience Prior To The Program

Before joining the Analyst Prep Program, I had no experience in the finance industry. I applied to this program as a high school senior, so I have not taken a college business class, however, I was motivated and excited to learn more and upstart my career! I was told that the members of the program were all college students and that inspired me to join because I wanted to prove myself in a way. I knew that I wanted to major in finance, and after learning the basics and advancing my technical skills, I was able to further develop on ‘just finance’.

Training Experience

The most valuable thing from the training program was the one on one calls. I was able to ask all of my questions as well as receive feedback on how I could improve. When I first submitted my first investment project on Amazon, the format of my presentation was horrible. I did not have page numbers, scales, and certain graphs, but after Mr.Romero pointed this out, I was able to improve on my next investment case. I started to pay close attention to details.

The training portion of the internship taught me everything I needed to know about investment banking. Since I’ve never taken a business class before, I had to learn everything on my own time. I am so glad that I was provided so many resources before starting my internship.

Internship Experience

The internship experience brought me out of my comfort zone. The training portion of the internship taught me everything I needed to know about investment banking. Since I’ve never taken a business class before, I had to learn everything on my own time. I am so glad that I was provided so many resources before starting my internship. The training portion was also very interactive. I had to fill out Excel sheets while watching the training videos and this was a great way to actively learn something. You can work on your technical skills as well as build on your business foundation.

Mentorship

The one on one mentorship was very very helpful! Prior to this program, I’d never been in one on one meetings with a professional before- it taught me some valuable skills such as knowing how to speak up. Before this program, I was a very shy student and I wasn’t expecting this program to be so interactive, rather than moving on from project to project, you are expected to explain your investment cases: this preps you for future cases outside of Romero mentoring. This is great practice for those who see themselves in investment banking in the future.

Career Development

Before this program, I had no experience in finance so I want to thank this program for giving me this experience and letting me jump start my career! I’ve been able to learn so much about business and what it takes to go into this industry.

Final Remarks

If you want to jump start your business career, Romero Mentoring is the way to go. I highly recommend this program to all college students interested in business. The one on one meetings and resources make this program unique, and it is hard to find another program that gives you attention and stellar feedback.
