Just go for this program and give it a try if you are truly passionate about a career in finance. You may have observed that most of the alumni are from the top 50 universities and the acceptance rate is merely 4.2%. However, Romero Mentoring does not care about where the school’s origin, as long as you convince them that you are sincere in your desire to be an analyst and will commit yourself to the training and internship.

During our mentoring sessions, Mr. Romero was able to provide me highly specialized advice and guidance based on my situation and learning style which helped me understand valuable information faster and on a deeper level. Nowadays, there are a lot of cookie cutter training and video bundles out there however, all of them pale in comparison with the Romero Program due to their inability to understand specific questions/problems that students may have on an individual level.

The program gives a very real look into what it is like to work in finance especially as an analyst, and will equip you with the tools necessary for a future career. I honestly believe that if you are a student that does not have connections, extensive experience in finance, majored in something other than finance, or attends a non-target school, but wants to work in finance, this program is a must. The technical and soft skills students learn through this program is directly attributed to Luis Romero’s experience and is a testament to his ability as a teacher. With out this program I would not have received an investment banking internship or a full-time job in finance.

My advice to prospective mentees is to reach out to current mentees or alumni of the program and hear their stories about Romero Mentoring. This program has helped me to grow so much, and I hope that it can help someone else too.

One thing that I did not mention is that the people who go through this program also help each other down the road. Whether it’s with interviews, job openings, or just advice. My advice to those on the borderline is to reach out to any of us who went through the program or even do a quick LinkedIn search to see where people have gone to see how much impact this program has helped them thus far.
